Accelerating the energy transition with storage technology

With an increasing share of intermittent renewable energies, such as solar or wind, in the power mix, energy storage becomes a key element for grid balancing and reliable power supply. NAS Batteries, distributed by BASF Stationary Energy Storage, help to address new challenges faced by grid operators. NAS batteries are designed for a lifetime of 20 years with capacity degradation of less than 1% per annum over the entire lifetime. The safety and reliability of NAS Batteries have been proven by over 20 years of deployment at multiple locations around the globe. Climate-resilience and containerisation make NAS batteries a flexible and easy-to-install solution. This is why they have been successfully deployed in applications like grid stabilisation with renewable energy and grid services, power supply to critical infrastructure in areas with intermittent grid as well as microgrid solutions in remote locations. Reliance on abundant raw materials, such as sodium and sulphur, means there is no geographical constraint with the supply chain.

Join us in Cape Town at The Capital 15 On Orange Hotel to find out about how NAS® batteries can be used for integration of renewable energies into the grid, optimization of electricity supply for industrial customers, grid upgrade deferral, and micro-/off grids.

Together, we look forward to exploring the opportunities that this cross-sector collaboration will unlock and the positive impact it will have on the green energy landscape and our communities in Africa.
