Bidvest International Logistics scoops Diamond Arrow Award

South African logistics firm continues to stand head and shoulders above the rest in the annual PMR Africa survey

Bidvest International Logistics (BIL) is still among the top performers for South African logistics companies after winning a PMR Africa Diamond Arrow Award for a remarkable seventh year.

PMR Africa’s annual awards aim to recognise professional excellence across various industries.

PMR nominates finalists after contacting organisations in each industry space and asking them to rate their respective service providers across 15 categories. These include Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), relationships with agents, predictability of deliveries, proactive communication with agents, problem-solving, reliability, brand reputation, risk management, track-and-trace, and value for money.

BIL’s Diamond Arrow award by PMR Africa’s survey of industry professionals between August and October 2024 bears testimony to the esteem BIL holds within the logistics sector.

“Our seventh Arrow Award reflects our commitment to exceptional service and leadership in the logistics industry,” says BIL Managing Director Craig Mountjoy.

The Bidvest Group-owned company’s latest award is especially significant because the procurement and supply climate has recently presented several challenges, including port congestion, geopolitical influences, and infrastructure challenges.

Yet BIL’s wide range of services, including air and ocean freight, transport, warehousing, customs brokerage and supply chain management, have withstood them all.

BIL invests in vehicle fleets and warehousing each year, leveraging technology to deliver value to its customer

“One of our significant successes is developing our staff and key talent for the business through multiple developmental programs such as the graduate programs, learner intake and the ‘Yes’ initiative,” Mountjoy adds.

The company has also focused on sustainability to create value for stakeholders and the broader society. It has set Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and implemented various initiatives to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of its operations.

In addition to the honour of winning the Diamond Arrow Award, the organisational survey offers BIL a well-structured matrix of key measurable aspects within logistics, particularly around client satisfaction and what clients perceive as satisfactory factors.

Mountjoy applauds the entire BIL team for their ongoing dedication to achieving excellence in logistics.
