Global Recycling Day – Polyco and Pick ‘n Pay to launch state-of-the-art Reverse Vending Machines for recyclable packaging.
In celebration of Global Recycling Day on the 18th March 2024, Polyco in collaboration with Pick n Pay, will launch a series of Reverse Vending Machines for consumers to deposit their recyclable materials while shopping. These Reverse Vending Machines will be located at 10 stores across the country with the launch taking place at the Pick ‘n Pay store in the Canal Walk Shopping Centre, Century City, Cape Town.
The Reverse Vending Machines will allow customers to deposit their recyclable waste and earn vouchers, which they can spend at Pick ‘n Pay stores and other select retailers – creating a win-win situation for recyclers and the environment.
Through its Million Plus campaign, Polyco aims to get millions of South Africans to join the plastic recycling movement and commit to recycling so we can end plastic waste and create a healthier world for everyone. The Reverse Vending Machine initiative is one of a number of collaborations with Pick ‘n Pay focused on achieving this aim.
The launch will be attended by Polyco and Pick ‘n Pay senior management teams and will include a demonstration of how the Reverse Vending Machines work.
