Isuzu Motors South Africa Advances Sustainability Leadership with 2025 Report

Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, reflecting significant progress in advancing its growth, governance, environmental stewardship, and societal leadership commitments. Covering the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, the report details the company’s performance against key sustainability targets, verified through independent third‑party assurance.

Aligned with the global ISUZU Environmental Vision 2050, the report highlights IMSAf’s integrated approach to creating long-term value for stakeholders while addressing Africa’s unique social, economic, and environmental challenges.

Key 2025 highlights:

Growth

• Maintained the number one position in South Africa’s Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle segments for the 12th consecutive year.
• Expanded product innovation, including the launch of a locally manufactured Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) truck to reduce emissions.

Governance

• Sustained level 1 B-BBEE contributor status for five years in a row.
• Continued third‑party verification of sustainability data to ensure transparency and credibility.

Environment

• Achieved zero waste to landfill in Isuzu Motors South Africa operations for the ninth consecutive year.
• Recorded a 7.03% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions year-on-year, exceeding the ISUZU Environmental Vision 2050 mid‑term goal of 50% reduction by 2030.
• Implemented advanced metering to improve water usage accuracy, supporting a cumulative 40% reduction in water consumption since 2018.

Societal Leadership

• Continued investment in education and community development, including disaster relief projects in flood‑affected Eastern Cape communities using reusable packaging scrap material from manufacturing operations.
• Created over 45 additional jobs through its circular economy waste‑management initiatives.
