Manufacturing Indaba is honoured to announce that the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau, is set to deliver the keynote address at the official Opening Ceremony of Manufacturing Indaba 2026, taking place on Tuesday, 14 July 2026 in Johannesburg.

As Africa’s leading manufacturing event, Manufacturing Indaba continues to serve as a key platform for industry leaders, policymakers, investors, innovators, and manufacturers to engage on the future of industrialisation and economic growth across the continent.

Minister Tau’s participation comes at a pivotal time for the sector, as governments and industry stakeholders work to accelerate industrial development, strengthen local manufacturing capacity, drive investment, and unlock intra-African trade opportunities.

The Minister’s keynote address is expected to provide strategic insights into the opportunities, challenges, and policy priorities shaping the future of manufacturing and industrial growth in South Africa and across Africa.

“Manufacturing remains a critical driver of economic growth, job creation, innovation, and regional competitiveness. Having Minister Parks Tau address the opening of Manufacturing Indaba 2026 reinforces the importance of collaboration between government and industry in advancing Africa’s industrial agenda,” says Liz Hart, Managing Director of Manufacturing Indaba.
