Pretoria Street Adopt A Street Volunteers Network Event

Clean City South Africa NPC in partnership with Shoprite invites the media to attend the Adopt A Street Volunteers Network Cleanup Event as follows:

Date: 12 February 2022 (Saturday)

Time: 09h00

Venue: Corner of Pretoria Street and Catherine Avenue, Hillbrow Johannesburg

Objectives of the event:

A) Collect and reduce litter and packaging pollution on the block around Pretoria Street, Catherine Avenue, Van Der Merwe Street and Banket Street in Hillbrow.

B) Raise awareness about litter and its implications to the environment

C) Feed the community from Hillbrow at the event through the Shoprite Mobile Soup Kitchen

Program for the event:

8.30am – Branding and Setup

8.45am – Volunteers and Visitors Registration

9.00am – Shoprite Mobile Soup Kitchen Opens

9.05am – Welcome and Pre-Cleanup Procedures

9.10am – Cleanup operation

10.00am – Refuse bags collected Counting and Reporting

10.15am – Handing over of Shoprite Vouchers to qualifying volunteers

10.25am – Group Photo with Volunteers and Visitors

10.30am – Take down Branding and Setup

11.00am – Shoprite Mobile Kitchen Closes

Note: There will be an opportunity for pictures and interviews from 8.30am to 11.00am.
